Display Social Security Numbers on reports

When we first started E-Verify, the reports would output the social security number. This was very helpful for checking that we have E-Verified all required employees. Now it only displays the last 4 digits so I have a manual process to see if my employees have been done because many people have the same last 4 digits. I cannot use name as people change their names often. Also, E-Verify does not verify that names are entered correctly.

I would also like the Employee Case ID to be on the reports. Thank you for listening!

  1. I dont think a full SS number NEEDS to be on those print outs. It could be better in some instances but I think it would be a much great risk for identity theft.

To clarify, I am not talking about the print outs, I am talking about the actual reports which are what we use to ensure everyone has been E-Verified. I am a federal contractor so we are not just doing new hires, but many other people as well.

  3. Not sure I'd agree here. My thought is the less the SSN is seen, the better for employee security. We just need to be extremely careful when entering the SSN.

  4. I have to agree with Alex here. I think last 4 digits of the SSN is almost always an SOP now in the United States.

  5. DHS E Verify and USCIS could do this if they think it is security safe to do so
