DHS and SSA should ask employers to post a sign in theirs office that states that the names on their SS card should be the same as the names they put on the form I-9. When jobs hunters fill out their form I-9 for employment, this would save time for both parties and avoid letters bean sent to either parties about mismatch names.
The TNC letter and the Referral Letter both pre-populate the user's name and, on the Referral Letter, the user's phone number. As we are an Employer Agent who does not interact with the new hire re these letters, we must remove our user's info first before providing the letter to our client, the employer.
The requires valuable time and should be removed.
Why is it that when the employee submits their email address, the employer is no longer sent TNC notifications? The employer has always received notifications, and should, being that they are responsible for E-Verify compliance and the compliance of their workforce. After all, this is their employee.
DHS and E-Verify have made changes to the TNC emails. This is good for employers and employee. When verifying employment status there is now a given time to respond to the TNC when the records do not match there data base or if your SSN is not updated and needs to be done eg a different name.
If the telephone number entered on Form I-9 is a mobile number, E-Verify could text TNC and reverification information to the employee. If the employer's profile included a mobile number, then E-Verify could text the same information to the employer.
With the automation of e-verify from HR systems directly to the E-Verify website, it would be helpful to have notifications of cases sent via an automated email. This would help in identifying cases that need additional attention in a more timely manner.
To help streamline the TNC process (as proposed by USCIS), post links in myE-Verify to TNC documents for an open E-Verify case. The links should remain available for some period of time such as until the case is closed. Only links to TNC documents for the employee's most recent case should be presented.
We have many employees whose primary language is not English, and they are often confused because the headings for the TNC information are under the information described (name appears ABOVE "Employee's Last Name, First Name"). They are also confused by A-Number when it is left blank (because they don't have one)--is it possible to add "not applicable" instead of leaving it blank?
Since ICA 30 not checks SSA and DHS at the same time and a Dual TNC FAN can be returned to replace separate FAN documents for each agency, post an example of the Dual TNC FAN on the E-Verify website. Also, FAN documents should be posted on the public E-Verify website.
It would be helpful to post completed versions, perhaps watermarked as SAMPLE, TNC documents under the Publications option on the public DHS and private E-Verify websites. This would help employers and employers to better understand the documents and their usage.
