If a user is attempting to run a duplicate case for the same employee, e-verify should have a pop up window that asks, "are you sure you want to run this case, You have already run a similar case on xxx date"
After closing a case, the Case Details page that prints says "Page 1 of 1", but prints on 2 pages. Printing one extra page for each E-Verify case quickly increases printing costs. Please reorganize the Case Details page to print to a smaller area, or remove the blank information fields.
Most people write dates on the I9 numerically, but e-Verify requires that a month is entered alpha ("Nov" instead of "11"). And, once a field is "full" (such as a Social Secuity number, the cursor should advance to the next field automatically rather than requiring a TAB. Our process is that someone will verify that the I-9 and E-Verify were completed correctly. It would be great if we could correct an error in E-Verify. For example, if a name is misspelled, the case will still close with resolve Authorized but once we realize the error, there is no way to attach the correct name to that case.
When a tutorial is required because of changes, it would be great if upon logging into E-Verify that it would tell us that the next time we log in we will need to take the tutorial before being able to use E-Verify. That way we know we have to allow time for that the next time.
This website should be linked to the home page of E-verify. i.e. while in e-verify and a user sees something they should be able to click a link to submit a new idea right there. They should also use the same user name a password to keep it easy to use.
I would like to see E-verify send me friendly reminders if there is action that needs to be taken within e-verify. An example would be that if I have open cases for extended periods of times I can go in and run a report to identify those, but my staff doesn't always know that they need to do this. It would be helpful for E-verify to send me an e-mail or an alert to remind me or my staff that I have open cases.
It would be nice to be able to search all cases (closed, in progress, open) at once instead of having to click on the radio button and go back to check each one. Also, searching by name would be helpful.
I would like to see the 3-day rule be changed to 6-day rule. If I hire someone on Tuesday, then I am out the rest of the week, I've missed the 3-day window; if I'm schudule to be on vacation for a week; there is no one else, in our company, that could do this. Most people take a week vacation. I would think most companies have only one (1) PR/HR person. I'm strongly asking that this be changed.
E-verify needs to update their screens to better follow the new I-9 form. With the new form being on 2 pages, it is inconvenient to have to constantly flip from page one to page two, back and forth while completing the E-verify. Especially since we print the I-9s double-sided.
With more and more employers utilizing remote employees, it is difficult to get an 'employer agent' to view/verify I-9 documents. Most Notaries in some states are unable to authenticate documents, they can only verify signatures. Guidance is needed from UCIS and E-Verify on how to properly document a remote employee and who can be utilized as an 'employer agent'.
Would love to have where you just type in the numbers instead of using the drop down method. I find it easier & quicker to type in the number than use the drop down boxes.
I would like the Right to Work Poster and the E-Verify Participation poster to be redesigned so that they do not incorporate a solid or colored background. It is such a waste of printer ink. Money is tight, and using printer ink for background fill is a waste of resources. Please allow us save our ink for words.
If a user is attempting to run a case on an employee, and that empoyee's hire date preceeds the MOU date the user should be blocked from running this case as it is a violation of the MOU. This makes more sense than sending a follow up e-mail telling them that they performed a behavior that they shouldn't have.
The definition of break in employment is left up to the employer to define. I work with many temp agencies, and they view their employees as "active" even if they are not currently on an assignment, thus I am forced to accept an everify that is several years old. I would like to see tighter parameters around this topic.
