Can you allow us to submit daily files of employee data to be submitted? Then a return file can be downloaded from the site giving the comformation numbers. Putting the employees in one by one is very time comsuming. The SSA site allows us to do this and takes us a lot less time to verify all of our new employee ss#'s.
When we first started E-Verify, the reports would output the social security number. This was very helpful for checking that we have E-Verified all required employees. Now it only displays the last 4 digits so I have a manual process to see if my employees have been done because many people have the same last 4 digits. I cannot use name as people change their names often. Also, E-Verify does not verify that names are ...more »
1. Add the ability to seach all cases (open, closed, pending, etc.) at once rather than separately.
2. Add the 'Employer Case ID' field to the Quick Audit Report. This would add the unique identifier necessary to compare my company reports to your E-Verify reports.
Can E-Verify notify the user entering a new case if there was previously a case created for the same individual, that is within the 3 year time period with valid IDs? A pop-up notification of a historically verified case would decrease entries into E-Verify without having to search each hire to determine if they are new or old; have a case or not; etc. As a construction company with a high turnover and rehire rate, this ...more »
We all make mistakes. My company uses the Employer Case ID field as a search option....we enter the employee's ID # here. If a simple mistake like transposing two numbers happens then it becomes impossible for us to use this field at a later date.
I clicked on the ? to get assistance w/determining a Case Closure Statement. I noticed that in some of the descriptions it says "The employer chooses to exercise its legal right to allow the employee to continue to work." I thought the purpose of using E-Verify was to determine if your employee was eligible to work in the U.S. Why would there be the option to continue employing someone that did not take action to resolve ...more »
In order to close a case, one needs to state that the employee is working for the company. We have several new employees who complete their I-9 prior to their start (hire) date and we have been answering yes, because answering no isn't a viable response. Is there a way to add "An employee to begin working on .....(date)? This will confirm the hire date entered earlier and allow an "honest" response.
Combine the close case process into a single question. Add "Employee no longer works at company" to the next page so that there are now four choices: 1. Person is no longer employed with company. 2. Person is employed and continues to work for the employer after receiving an Employment Authorized result. 3. The case is invalid because another case with the same data already exists. 4.The case is invalid because ...more »
Allow a user to re-run a recent (e.g., within 10 days) E-Verify case not closed as Employment Authorized by pulling up the case and modifying some of the information. There are a number of situations in which an employee's initial E-Verify case must be closed due to a keying error or other error. The user could pull up the case, make the corrections to the data and resubmit the case. This would save time and avoid subsequent ...more »
It would be great if E-Verify would allow us to re-verify the work authorization for employees whose documents expire. That way we can ensure that the new information is correct.
I have employees who have only one name. E-Verify doesn't accept one name submissions. I have to add unknown in either the first name field or last name field. Additionally, more often than naught, these employees receive a TNC. I think E-Verify should be updated so that cases can be easily created for employees with one name.
Since we have 3 business days to create new cases for new hires, I think 2013 and 2014 should be the only available options for year of hire. All other years should be eliminated.
Paragrah A.6.a. of the MOU provides that if the employee presents a List B document, that employers may only accept List B documents that contain a photo. The E-Verify website Q&A's also states Persons under the age of 18 and adults must provide E-Verify employers with a List B document that includes a photograph. This requirement overrules the exception for minors completing Form I-9. However, when creating a case in ...more »
Allow a user to correct the closure code on an E-Verify case within a short window such as 24 hours. Cases closed incorrectly cannot be corrected today without creating a new case, which may not be the best approach. Both the original and updated closure codes would need to be retained in the E-Verify database. This would help improve E-Verify's statistics and allow the user to correct mistakes that could result in unnecessary ...more »
DHS and E-Verify have made changes to the TNC emails. This is good for employers and employee. When verifying employment status there is now a given time to respond to the TNC when the records do not match there data base or if your SSN is not updated and needs to be done eg a different name.
