The FAQ page on I-9 Central will only print the answers if the user first clicks all of the + signs to reveal the answers. A few suggestions to consider: 1. Provide a single button to reveal all answers rather than requiring the user to click each + sign individually. 2. When printing the FAQ page automatically print all of the answers. 3. Allow an individual question and answer to be printed without printing all FAQs.... more »
No need to change anything
Employees need to better understand the benefits to them of including their email address in Section 1 of Form I-9. By entering their email, the employee is assured of being notified by E-Verify in the event of a TNC. This is important because, for a variety of reasons, the employer may not notify the employee. Employers need to know that the email field is an optional field and can only be entered in E-Verify if the... more »
Since DHS appears to be cracking down on states that issue driver's licenses that are not compliant with REAL ID by not accepting such documents for air travel or access to federal facilities is it possible that the law could be modified so that non-compliance documents are not acceptable for Form I-9? Some of the states at risk include Alaska, California, Illinois, Missouri, New Jersey and South Carolina. DHS recently... more »
Maybe have a webinar about the electronic I-9s and what companies the USCIS approves?
Sometimes it is difficult to know if there are different guidelines and also if the electronic I-9s that are being used are compliant.
I am just accepting a new job, but the I-9 website is impossible to do this online, or at least find where you do it? Ive done this before with prior positions and it was easy!
I am to understand E-Verify checks the Social Security System to make sure the Social Security Card is a match to the person on the I-9. If the system checks the Social Security System to make sure the information matches. Why can’t we put a person in the E-verify without a Social Security Number? (1) Have a place where they can put the date and place they applied for the Social Security Card. (2) If the system... more »
For ease of submission, it would be great if we could allow potential new hires (past the offer but not yet started with the company) to submit their information for Section 1. I have seen instances before where you can input the new hire's e-mail address and it will auto-generate an e-mail to them asking them to complete Section 1. Then when they come in with documentation, they will not have to fill out a form-- we... more »
I have the Adobe Acrobat Reader app on my iPad, with DC subscription to Document Cloud. I have followed the instructions to save the I-9 (enhanced version) to the Document Cloud, and then go into the app to open the I-9. However, it will not open (it tells me I need Acrobat Reader, which I already have and am using with all updates complete). I can open the enhanced I-9 on my Mac, but I cannot open it on my iPad. Has... more »
To help employers and promote consistency in the completion of Form I-9, the USCIS lists of suggested/preferred document titles and issuing authorities should be listed on I-9 Central. This would be a big help suppliers of electronic systems and their customers as well as E-Verify M&C, ICE, and IER.
Would be wonderful if you could add REAL ID to list of acceptable List A documents since you have to provide all of these documents to receive it from DMV anyway.
how do you enroll employees without forms from the lates 80 and the early 90s. How do you handle the hired date
If you live in Texas and select that State constantly then it should automatically convert back to the State you use the most. Or if you type in a T it should go straight to the T's without having to scroll all the way down every time.
Why is my A&P not accepted as a form of ID when it has all the info that is required and is given to me by (pay attention & put down the crayons) THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION? Did you see that and understand (FEDERAL & THE DOT). I swear to god people need to use common sense.
I think E Verify should crate a security code number for all applicant filling out form 1-9 employment verification eligibility this would help avoid others who try to steal others identify on their tax return
